WHAT IS IMPORTANT?

To validate the prototype, an individual test plan is created and test cases are prepared. Users test the prototype and give immediate feedback. This checks whether potential users of the interested party recognize an added value and whether there is still optimisation potential in the real application. On the fifth day of the workshop, ideas are confirmed and problems can be uncovered. During the workshop, the test documents and the procedure are coordinated to achieve the best possible result. A cognitive walkthrough can be used for this purpose. It makes sense to involve team members who did not participate in the sprint.

METHODS

Show, don’t tell

  • Step 1: The prototype is presented, without explanation. The participants are supposed to try the prototype without any instruction. Study the reactions of the participants.
  • Step 2: Write down your observations.

Tell me!

  • Step 1: At this point you have not explained how the prototype works. Let the participants explain the prototype to you.
  • Step 2: Ask follow-up questions. Try to get the best possible overview of their impressions and feelings.
  • Step 3: Write down their thoughts and critics.

WHO PARTICIPATES?

The core team, potential users and technology specialists.
